Grayslake Community High School District began the process of developing a new Strategic Plan during the Fall of 2022. Starting with surveys sent to community, staff, and students, the district sought to determine the needs and wants of the broader school community. With information gathered from over 600 completed survey responses, the district conducted focus group conversations with groups of parents, students, and staff from both Grayslake North and Grayslake Central in Spring 2023.

Four meetings with a Strategic Planning Committee including students, community members, staff, D127 School Board members, and administration were held in January, March, April, and May 2023. The group synthesized survey data, focus group results and finalized the four pillars, goals, and developed the new Portrait of a D127 Learner.
