The wait is almost over, after months of planning, Monday, January 27, 2025, will be a day to remember at D127 as we celebrate our first-ever D127 Day. This exciting, district-wide event is a chance to highlight the extraordinary achievements of our students, staff, and community while unveiling new initiatives and programs.
Here’s what you can expect on this special day:
Unveiling of the New D127 Logo
One of the day’s highlights will be the official unveiling of our new district logo, designed by student Elijah Bond. This logo is a reflection of our district’s vision and values, created by one of our own talented students.
Interactive Fun for All
The day is designed to blend seamlessly into our usual schedules while bringing an extra dose of fun and celebration. Photo booths in cafeterias, sweet treats, and surprises will add to the festive atmosphere, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Portrait of Excellence Awards
The day will culminate in an evening ceremony honoring students, staff, and community members who have gone above and beyond to make D127 extraordinary. These awards, designed and crafted by our woods and metals students, symbolize excellence, creativity, and community spirit. The ceremony will feature a blue carpet entrance, giving our honorees the star treatment they deserve.
Student Contributions on Display
D127 Day is a showcase of the incredible talent and dedication of our students:
Our librarian paraprofessionals have worked with students to 3D print D127 keychains that will be shared with all students and staff.
Culinary 2 students are catering the Portrait of Excellence Awards event, preparing delicious creations for the evening’s celebration. All vegetables served that evening come from our partnership with Liberty Prairie Farms.
Woods and Metals students have designed and crafted the awards for the Portrait of Excellence honorees, ensuring each piece is unique and meaningful.
