Overview of AIM Programs

aim literacy interventions

Our team of literacy interventionists lead small group and 1-on-1 interventionists to support students in strengthening their reading, writing and speaking skills. Utilizing research-based methods including Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) by Fountas & Pinnell and Just Words by Wilson Language Training, interventionists meet students where they are and provide individualized support.

aim math interventions

AIM Math Interventions are all about building foundational math skills in order to help students feel more confident and prepared for grade-level math classes. The math interventionists utilize the Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) method to help students better understand abstract mathematical concepts through a variety of hands-on activities. Extension & practice is available via the Freckle platform.

Mentorship

During these focused 23-69 minute sessions, mentors work one-on-one with assigned students to provide individualized support. The primary goals are to review their academic progress, collaborate on strategies to reconnect with teachers, and deliver subject-specific assistance tailored to each student's needs.

Mentors bring their academic expertise to these sessions, empowering students to build the skills and confidence necessary for long-term success. Our approach emphasizes fostering independence, ensuring the positive impacts extend well beyond the immediate session.

Science Support

Science Interventions focus on building foundational science skills to help students engage confidently with grade-level science content. Science interventionists support students in mastering essential practices, from constructing evidence-based claims (CERs) to conducting labs and applying math concepts within science. They also provide opportunities for students to make up missed labs, ensuring access to critical hands-on learning experiences. Through these targeted supports, students gain the tools and practice necessary to thrive in their science courses and beyond.
